Nicole Giesa
Vita
With her photographic cycles and iconic photo series, Nicole Giesa has been visualizing her impressions of everyday life and social issues in a unique way since 2020. Her artistic work began unplanned after a stroke of fate, when she lacked the words to express herself. Her works are inspiring an ever-growing international audience: in 2022, her photo series were presented as a contemporary position in a special exhibition at the Glyptothek of the Staatliche Antikensammlung on Königsplatz, which brought Munich's oldest museum a new visitor record in just one weekend. In the same year, her LONESOME ASTRONAUT was one of the visitors' favorites at a photography festival in Venice. Her works were shown in group exhibitions in Palma de Mallorca, Miami and at the Swiss Art Expo. This was followed by successful solo exhibitions at the Künstlerhaus am Lenbachplatz in Munich and the Barlach Halle K in Hamburg. From July 2024 to March 2025, Giesa's Astronaut was part of the much-discussed group exhibition “Metaphor to Metamorphosis” by Galerie König at Bergson Kunstkraftwerk. The Kafka-inspired exhibition included works by some of the greatest contemporary artists. The Lonesome Astronaut was the narrative finale to the show. Nicole Giesa's works can be found in numerous renowned private collections.
