Antonio Marra
Vita
Born in 1959 in Volturara Irpina (AV), Italy Antonio Marra is an artist who masterfully transforms canvas into a mesmerizing, kinetic experience. Expanding upon the grand traditions of Op Art and Orphism, Marra has cultivated a distinctive style that breathes astonishing vitality into geometric abstraction. His works are not meant to be viewed from a single, static vantage point; rather, they demand your active participation. As you move around a piece, mathematically precise structures magically dissolve and reconstruct into vibrant, oscillating waves of color. Through meticulous craftsmanship, Marra issues a constant invitation to challenge your spatial perception, break your visual habits, and step into a kaleidoscopic world of discovery. Since 1993, the works of Antonio Marra have been presented internationally in a wide range of galleries - including in Frankfurt, Munich, Shanghai, San Francisco, and Mykonos. Museums and Public Collections Antonio Marra’s works are part of both private and public art collections and are currently represented in the following museums: Museum Explora, Frankfurt | Ritter Museum, Stuttgart, MART, Rovereto | Provincial Art Museum, Jiangxi | Taicang Art Museum, Shanghai | Yichun Art Museum, Jiangxi. For the Marra House in Heilbronn, which opened in 2015, the artist designed the entire façade. Today, the building is considered one of the city’s landmarks.
